RIGHT PLACE, RIGHT TIME
This photo was captured from Pokhara, Nepal of the Pumdikot Shiva Statue.
Right after I spotted the striking structure from my hotel balcony I envisioned to capture it with the sun setting in the background. However, it wasn’t as simple as pointing my camera at it from my location. I had to walk a mile down the Fewa lake side to find this perfect alignment. I had only moments to capture this and in the end it all worked out.

THE HIDDEN SYMBOLISM
Shiva is known in Hinduism as the god of destruction, but also of transformation and renewal. As we bid farewell to the year gone by and welcome the new one, this image reflects that spirit. Shiva faces the setting sun, hopeful yet accepting the inevitable passage of time, letting go of the past as a new chapter begins.
