54% Illuminated First Quarter Moon Captured on 17 MAR 2024 by Zubuyer Kaolin
This is one of my most detailed captures of the moon. I used an 8 inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope at 2032mm focal length and a small sensor camera. I captured 35 panels of deferent portion of the moon and stitched them together to create this massive moon mosaic. Each of the panels are a stack of 1000 frames. So the final image is a combination of 35,000 individual images and several hundred gigabytes of raw data. You can zoom in to various parts of the moon and enjoy the beautiful features of the lunar surface.
